b. 1983, Palatka, Florida
I’m a Southerner, who left the dusty clay roads of rural Melrose, Florida in 2001 at age 18 for college in “the North” and the freedom to come out as gay. I completed my B.A. in Studio Art at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH in painting, sculpture, performance and poetry. I completed a semester of the MFA in Print/Media at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, MI and was the department’s Daimler Scholar award winner, before moving to Austin, TX for love. In Austin, I completed the Summer Architecture Intensive at the University of Texas at Austin’s School of Architecture and design school in Social Entrepreneurship and Interaction Design. This led to a nourishing 15+ year career in design with clients all over the world and roles that moved me to Palo Alto, San Francisco and Santa Monica, before I chose Vermont.
I completed a 3 week residency in March 2026 at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont and have a forthcoming residency at Studio Kura in Fukuoka, Japan in March 2027.
